NEW FIRE PROTECTION DEVICE AT LIBRARY

Bob Mesick, one of the officers of the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department, checks the new "Knox Box" by the front entrance of the Chazy Public Library. The box can only be opened by the fire department to provide access to the building in case of a fire call when the building is unoccupied. The firemen will be able to enter without damaging the building and will be able to contact library personnel.

Children of all ages will be able to enjoy a reading of The Mitten Tree. This picture book, by Candace Christiansen and illustrated by Elaine Greenstein, pays tribute to gentle kindness, generosity, and giving from the heart with no need for recognition. How appropriate during the month of February, a month that is known for its celebration of love and kindness. A related activity will also be presented.

Peter Pan Play School Returns

The Peter Pan Play School children hiked over to the new Chazy Public Library building on a cold January morning for their first Story Hour of 2012.

They warmed up by the new fire place in the reading room prior to meeting with Diane Sabourin and Esther Dominy for their stories.
