The first Story Time of the New Year will be held this Saturday, at 10 am at the library.
Speech therapist, Chelsey Compeau, will read a winter related story and have the children participate in related activities.

Friends' Open House Preparations for Sunday December 7th

The Community Room awaits visitors to the Friends of the Library Open House Tea.
Gift baskets donated by local businesses await the raffle winners.


Anni Lorenzini, local artist, was on hand at the library Sunday, December 7th at 1 pm to dedicate her painting to two longtime supporters of the Chazy Public Library, Emily Castine and Francie Fairchild as well as in memory of their deceased husbands, Wendell and Samuel.
The painting hangs in the Reading Room.

Chazy Elementary 2nd grade classes Decorate Library Tree

Mrs. Langlois' and Mrs. Barcomb's 2nd grade classes brought their decorations over to the Community Room.  Each student read her story pertaining to the hand made decoration he/she made.
Then the decoration was hung on the tree.
The library Christmas tree is prepared for the Friends of the Library Tea to be held Sunday the 7th from 11 am to 2 pm.

Gingerbread Village Display at the Library
December 7 11 :00-2:00
The Chazy Public Library is excited to announce that it will be
accepting your creations to add to its Gingerbread Village display.
*Individuals and families are encouraged to create a gingerbread house that does not
exceed 12"x12".
(Index cards will be available to display your name and house title)
*Use your imagination to either create a building you would find in our own special
village, a simple gingerbread house, or even a memorable house from children's
*Entries should be dropped off at library 12/4 & 12/6, event is on December 7.
*Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a holiday gift basket, but individual
houses will not be judged.

Fall Wagon Ride

The Friends of the Library sponsored a wagon ride for children.
The ride was around the school pond followed by hot chocolate and cookies at the library.
High school students read to the children during their Community Room visit.

Troop 4016 Meets in Community Room

Here are pictures from our meeting last night.  Tim Gonyo from Woodmen of the World gave us a little presentation on the US Flag as well as giving us two troop flags, and booklets with small flags for each scout.  Then as part of our journey to earn a series of badges, we built birdhouses to help take care of our feathered friends.

We had 12 kids and 8 adults.

Three beautiful examples of how each individual artist was able to interpret the direction to artfully depict a Willow tree....this very much conveyed the special message of the story selection for today's morning Storytime.

Now that the excitement of Halloween has subsided please visit the library to borrow or read one of these amazing selections in the children's section. Each book celebrates the artistic and creative gifts all individuals can display when given the freedom to express them...

The Laverne Dutcher Weather-vane Memorial Plaque

Jim west affixed the  plaque for the weather-vane donated by the Dutcher family in memory of Laverne Dutcher.

Pre-kindergartners visit the library.

Mrs. Fairchild conducts a tour of the library for the Pre-kindergarten class of the After School program directed by Heather Norcross.

Friends of the Library Fall Ride!

What: Friends of the Library Fall Ride!  A special fall wagon ride by Country Dreams Farm around the school followed by a trip to the library... begins at the CCRS pond drive and ends with warming hot chocolate, cookies, and a story teller.
