Explore the culture of china and read about the unique traditions relating to the chinese new year!

If possible try to dress in red, as the color is a traditional symbol of the annual celebration.

New Runners Purchased by Friends

The Friends have bought the library some new throw rugs for our high volume traffic areas.
Very useful for these spots and attractive at the same time. Thank You to the Friends!

Trudy Burger, the chairperson, for the Holiday Tea, and Ken Burger, raffle off the beautiful Christmas baskets donated by local merchants.

DECEMBER 8TH HOLIDAY TEA

Many of the old time members of the Friends returned to celebrate the occasion with the younger crowd.

DECEMBER 7TH STORY HOUR

Tammy Braun entertained the children with a discussion of varied customs around the word for celebrating the Season.  The kids made tree ornaments afterwards.

Community Room Ready to Welcome guests on Sunday December 8th for the Friends Holiday Tea

CCRS Second Grade classes visit the library

Mrs. Langlois' and Mrs. Barcomb's 2nd grade classes presented their decorations to the Friends of the Library in the Community Room. Each student shared his or her memories connected to the decorations.
The art work was displayed on the walls and hallways.  The fourth grade sent over crafted paper ornaments to be affixed on the tree by the Friends who were decorating for this coming Sunday's Holiday Tea.

A door has been installed on the Garden Storage Shed by volunteer Jim West. The siding and wiring is yet to be completed.

OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING CONTINUES

Some members of the class ventured out to continue their perspective drawing.
Others stayed indoors to sketch and create their various interpretations of objects.



Master Gardener Class for Fall

Joann Trombly, master gardener, working with Cornell Cooperative Extension Service, conducted a class in the Community Room at the Chazy Library the evening of October 23, 2013.
Her topic was Putting Your Garden to Bed.

LIBRARY FLAG HOISTED

Mrs. Fairchild located our blue flag and suggested hoisting it since there are strangers that seem to have trouble finding our new library. It is quite visible from Rt. 9 now.
